Not only did the I have the priviledge of knowing and working with Sami, but I was also introduced to the majority of all the special woman in her family. The first time we met 10 of us hovered around a tiny table, drank coffee and talked flowers. I even met the Groom a few weeks before the wedding which can sometimes be a rare occasioin. What a great family!

The personal flowers for this wedding were traditional, all roses, but we added some fun and noticeable differences. The all white bride's bouquet was wrapped with a lush grouping of white fluffy feathers and all the junior bridesmaids wore floral headpieces. Bits of wax flower foliage were added to the bridesmaids bouquets, floral headbands and bouts for extra texture.

Congrats you two! Wishing you years of happiness

I loved working with these two. Their raditional Spring Wedding at Keeneland echoed the spirit of Kentucky.

All the bouquets were filled with peonies, the highly desired flower of the year. Yep these two planned their Wedding at the perfect time of year to receive these lush beauties. They smelled fabulous.

All the centerpieces either had monotone clusters of roses or white hydrangea. A very simple and traditional look that created elegance. Gold mercury glass votives surrounded the centerpieces and gold jewels were placed within the flowers. Once the venue set up was complete, it looked beautiful, especially since the huge glass windows overlooked the race track.

Congrats Jay and Lisa! Wishing you many many years of happiness.

Extra fun with the Marriott Griffin Gate

Right around Valentine's Day we were invited to participate in the Marriott Griffin Gate's Tasting Event. We really had a lot of fun coming up with six very different style centerpieces (rustic to chic to modern) for the linens which are available to Brides who booked with this venue. As always we LOVE working with the professional staff at Marriott and are looking forward to many weddings there this year. Hopefully we gave the Brides that came to the event some inspiration for their upcoming wedding. Till next time....seek great design.

How Charming Bridal Event

In early January Hide and Seek had the opportunity to participate in the How Charming Bridal Event at Keeneland. This was our second year at the show and we fully enjoyed ourselves. We were surrounded by some really talented vendors, many of which I am lucky to consider great friends. Despite the rain, which poured all day, Hide and Seek's booth had a few pops of vibrant color, which reeled the Brides in for a few minutes of fun conversation. Our newest rental item, the awesome iron trellis, made its first appearance at the show and won the hearts of many Brides.

Cheers to 2013. Lets fill it with another year of creativity and FLOWERS!

Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill

Now that the craziness of Wedding season has slowed down for us, I have started to really digest all the Weddings we accomplished this year.  I truly love how each was so different and unique.  The one I am sharing today, Malcolm and Chelsie was so much and I really appreciated both the bride and grooms' talent in design.  Both are designers professionally, and their wonderful photographer, Magnus, from Glint Studios, whom I love, has also worked in the interior design field for years.  Also, I came from years of practicing professional architectural design, so all four of us SERIOUSLY had a hay day with this event.  Chelsie provided me with an inspiration photo and I ran with it. With a natural and whimsical, yet clean and colorful wildflower look I went nuts ordering an in-depth palette of zinnias, ranunculus', dahlias wax flowers, gomphrena, solidago, babys breath, grains, grasses, ferns, etc, the list could go on.  Also, we both collected antique bottles over a period of months to pull off the look for the tablescapes.  I think in the end we had close to 200 antique bottles!

All the bouquets were small, but full of life.  They looked like someone had simply plucked them from the field.  I adored how all the bouquets and bouteneires were all different.

The setting at Shaker Village was stunning, especially the ceremony site.  So simple, yet tremendously elegant.  Rustic benches, burlap, an oriental rug for the bride and groom to stand on and small colorful clusters of flowers in ball jars hung on shepards hooks down the aisle.

Enjoy the pictures.  Congrats again Malcolm and Chelsie....you are a WONDERFUL couple and I wish you did not live all the way on the West coast!!
